Bathrooms are the most frequently used rooms in a house and almost by every member of the family. So, keeping the bathroom clean and fresh becomes the first priority of every homeowner as many diseases can take place from a contaminated area. Regular maintenance of bathroom is an essential part of housekeeping as most of our activities are done here. Keeping your bathroom maintained and clean can save you a considerable amount of money over the long run because you can avoid problems related to plumbing, leaks, mold, and mildew. Here we have mentioned some regular maintenance tips for you. Wipe your Bathroom Every day
Wiping your bathroom after every bath is the first part of its regular maintenance. It might sound odd to wipe it every day if you’re not in the habit. But it just takes a few seconds and helps you maintain your bathroom. Water only needs the smallest of gaps to start causing damage and the gaps between the tiles are worst place where water can get accumulated if you don’t wipe them after every bath. Ensure that the Sealant and Grout are Intact If you have a bathtub in your bathroom then ensure that the grout and the sealant around the tiles are intact. Both of these require a frequent inspection. The grout often wears or cracks due to the constant exposure to heat and moisture. So, ensure that the grout is intact and free of mold or mildew. To remove the dirt or grout stains, use oxygen bleach to clean it. If you find the grout missing then you should clean and dry the area before applying new grout. Toilet Maintenance This is the worst part of cleaning a bathroom, but it can’t be ignored so you have to implement regular cleaning to it. Cleaning it is not the only task; you have to check for leakage as well. Take a rag around the toilet base and test for leakage. Sometimes small quantities of water start seeping out from the base. This is an indication that the sealing ring is no longer viable or worn out and there is a huge possibility of bigger leaks. For better maintenance of toilet, we recommend you to call a plumber as they can quickly diagnose an issue by simply opening the back of the toilet. Check for Tiles Tiles are the most important part of a bathroom as most homeowners often choose a tile floor for their bathroom. So it’s necessary to give them a regular inspection as well as ensure that the tiles are in place and caulked properly. Also, check for any signs of shifting tiles on the wall or the floor. If you find any such signs then we recommend you to install new tiles or reinstall the same tiles. But, never install too slippery tiles in a bathroom as it can cause major damage to you. It’s your responsibility to keep your home clean and fresh and bathroom cleaning is also a part of home cleaning.
